Canada Day

Freckles Celebrating Canada Day

It was Canada Day on July First.
Some of you know that as Dominion Day, which is what growlmy knew it as when she was growing up there.
Its our Birthday! 1867 being the year we were 'born'.

On June 30th it was hot and humid, and late in the day, into July 1, there were a lot of bad storms around here. Winds of over 60mph, and some were clocked at 90mph. OMD.
A lot of trees fell down and did damage to cars and homes and of course power lines. Pawppy;'s office was dark for two days...did he get days off?? Nope. He had to work and they made him use emergency power. Even some grocery stores were in the dark. Things are slowly getting back to normal.

Of course with all that thundering and sirens blaring I had to bark my fool head off...
Just to make sure I am in fine form for the upcoming fireworks and hot air balloons that have started today. My town is the site of  'The International Field of Flight and Balloon Festival'.
The Thunderbirds are here too, sheesh they sure are noisy!

At least the rest of the week is supposed to be nicer in temp and weather.
Growlmy has to work the third, but then she has the rest of the weekend off.
Her and pawppy will be at that airport on the fourth and fifth watching all the goings on over there.
I have to stay here and do guard duty...

Woofs!
